The Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone is gearing up for an early 2016 release as numerous reports have pointed out by now. But Xiaomi has decided to already start teasing the handset in order to build hype and anticipation for the smartphone.
In its new teaser, the company has revealed the device itself, with what appears to be ultra slim bezels. This tells us that the design of the smartphone is going to be a key highlight, which is no surprise given what we’ve seen from the recently launched Redmi Note 3.
The teaser image also partially reaffirms the presence of a pressure sensitive Synaptics ClearForce sensor on board, which is pretty identical to the 3D Touch feature that’s seen on the Apple iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus. This aspect has been rumored before as well, so it’s no surprise that the company is already teasing it.
The Mi 5 smartphone is expected to be packing a 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) display, a 16MP rear camera, the Snapdragon 820 octa-core processor and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device is long overdue as the Mi 4 was released in August last year.
The CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun has promised users that the Mi 5 will be well worth the wait, which has given fans some solace. We should see the device breaking cover sometime by January or February 2016.
