Lenovo has managed to grab a good share in the Indian smartphone market thanks to its A series budget handsets and the sub-Rs 10,000 smartphones such as K3 Note and Lenovo P1M. Besides these, Lenovo has recently launched a number of mid-range handsets (Lenovo Vibe Shot, Vibe P1 andVibe S1) that offer high-end specifications and some of the best camera hardware in the smartphone industry at a fair price point. However, all of these smartphones run Android 5.0/5.1 Lollipop and are yet to receive the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
That said, if you also own a Lenovo smartphone, then we have a good and a bad news for you. The good news is that, a recent post has surfaced on Weibo, which says that Lenovo has planned a roadmap of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the above mentioned smartphones. And the bad part is that, the first update is due in March 2016, which is still three months away from now.
According to the post, the first device to receive the Android 6.0 update is the international update of the K3 Note along with Lenovo Vibe P1 and the Chinese version of Lenovo Vibe X3 in March 2016. The international version of Lenovo A7000 and the Chinese version of the Lenovo K3 Note are due for update in April 2016. After this, it will be the turn of the international versions of the Vibe X3 and Vibe P1 to get an update to Android 6.0 in the month of May. And lastly in the month of June, the international version of Lenovo Vibe S1, Vibe X3 and A7000+ will receive the Marshmallow update.
