Last week, a lucky unlocked Samsung Galaxy S5 owner ended up with Android 6.0.1 on his phone by mistake. Considering that the manufacturer has always had phones in the Galaxy S series go through at least two major updates, this would not be a surprise. The Galaxy S5 launched with Android 4.4.2 and was updated to Android 5.0. That means that by tradition, Marshmallow should be pushed out to the phone. Also in line to receive the Marshmallow update are variants of last year’s high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active and the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A.
