Even though the launch of Honor 6X smartphoneÂ took centrestage at the company’s launch event in China on Tuesday, Huawei also used the opportunity to unveil the Honor Pad 2 tablet and Honor Watch S1 smartwatch. The tablet has been priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 9,900) for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only variant; CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 12,900) for the 32GB Wi-Fi-only variant; and priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 14,800) for the 32GB 4G variant. The smartwatch will be available with Orange, Black, and Blue straps and has been priced at CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 6,900).
Honor Pad 2 sports an 8-inch full-HD (1200×1920 pixels) IPS display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. In terms of optics, Honor Pad 2 packs an 8-megapixel rear camera tagged with an LED flash and a 2-megapixel camera at front. The Honor Pad 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes in Wi-Fi only and 4G variants.
The connectivity options for the tablet include 4G LTE ( with voice-calling functionality), Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.1. The Honor Pad 2 houses a 4800mAh battery and will be available in colours Gold and White.
Both Honor Pad 2 and Watch S1 will be available for pre-order from October 19 and will be available for sale in China from October 25. Just like the Honor 6X, both these devices have been announced only for China, with no word yet on price or release date in other countries.
