Blackberry to launch another Android at $499.99

This is the third launch after Blackberry launched other two Android based devices past this year
According to Android Pure, the new smartphone will be known as Mercury and carries the BBB100-1 codename and runs on the Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow

Blackberry, earlier this year, was rumoured to launch three Android-based smartphones by the end of 2016. One of the phones was already released. The Blackberry DTEK50 was announced a couple of months ago, while the DTEK60 will be announced shortly.

According to Android Pure, the new smartphone will be known as Mercury and carries the BBB100-1 codenamed and runs on the Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow. Other listing information states the smartphone to be powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (possibly the 625 chipset), clocked at 2.0GHz. The SoC is paired to an Adreno 506 GPU and RAM is pegged at 4GB.

Details are sketchy, but information from sources state that it could come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It is touted to have 32 GB of internal storage and a powerful 3,000mAh battery. Primary camera could be around 21MP, with 8MP in front for snapping selfies and conducting video calls.

Rumors have stated that Blackberry could announce the DTEK60 very soon. The specs were already leaked on the retailers’ website and even on the company website for the past few weeks with them accepting pre-orders. As of now, they have stopped taking in orders which remains the actual launch to be speculated.
